| THIS IS THE END, MY FRIEND As part of the TCA winter tour, Fox exec Kevin Reilly gave his two cents about Dollhouse's impending foreclosure. iF magazine was there in Los Angeles. While Reilly's remarks may not be satisfying, he kept his word by airing the 13 episodes for this season. I'd just like to know what he thinks about the fact that fans can make better promos that Fox can. Meantime, Eliza Dushku talks about the end to the Los Angeles Times, while the Hollywood Reporter says the only upside to this is that the cast is sure to get more work. That better include Tahmoh, Enver, Fran and Miracle! As for Felicia Day, she talked about her appearancei n Epitaph Two in her blog. Slant magazine has its own analysis on why the show lasted only 26 episodes. ON THE OTHER HAND, THE BOSS GETS AN AWARD It will be a happy new year for Joss Whedon. Just before the Dollhouse closes for good, he'll receive the Vanguard Award from the Producers Guild of America. ScifiWire has the details about this big honor, along with his flippant, as in stunned, response. Other people who won this award did a few things for films, like James Cameron and George Lucas! ROSSUM'S IN THE INTERNET This is a very nice way to promote the show, and the next big story arc, namely Senator Wesley, I mean Perrin vs. Rossum, with someone unlikely helping out. Anyway, the site explains the mission, which seems as benign as those Vistors, but we know better. There's also a list of offices that includes one located near a suspected Hellmouth. BUT SO ARE THE NEO-LUDDITES There's another site called ditchthetech.com, which may be from the world of Epitaph One. We get a voice from the future, telling us not to answer the phone. We also get cool designs that can be used for posters or even bumper stickers. The site, along with the one from Rossum, is the most promotion Dollhouse is getting in more than a month. Maybe we should have tried this, say, last month? WHO WANTS TO BE A DOLL? Maurissa Tanchareon, who's written two great scripts with her hubby Zach Whedon (whose brother is in TV somewhere) considers that question in an interview in io9. It talks a lot about Sierra in Belonging. THE ULTIMATE DOLLHOUSE INTERVIEW See Eliza Dushku, Tahmoh Penikett, Enver Gjokaj and Dichen Lachman be interviewed by....each other? Hey, you can't get more in-depth than that, according to AOL. They talk abuot the show, behind-the-scenes jokes and whether we'll ever see Buffy again....on TV I HATE YOUR DOLLHOUSE, BUT IF YOU NEED A HANDLER.... Yes, Paul will be trying to bring the place down by working for them, and this may be a better idea in the long run. This web page from Fox to advertisers gives a hint on what may be coming this fall. Our friends at io9 has two video interviews with Tahmoh Penikett, because he's beefy. HOW ABOUT THE REST OF THE STAFF? We should start with Olivia Williams, who plays the very cool and ruthless head of the Dollhouse, Adelle DeWitt. The UK version of Sci-Fi had a nice interview with her as the show is starting there. She also talks to IGN about season 2, or as much as she can. She also talks to the Hollywood Reporter on her role in An Education, and also tells the Indedepndent how she first heard of Joss. Here's more of her from Tribute.Ca Amy Acker will play Dr. Claire Saunders, who's not your average doctor...as we know now. You can learn more at Amy Acker Fan. The UK version of E! Online has interviews with Enver Gjokaj (Victor) and Fran Kranz (Topher). SHE'S A MIRACLE....WITH THAT UKELELE! Honest. Since she's getting a lot of attention as Mellie/November (just don't ask her about flowers in a vase), people want to know all about Miracle Laurie. Well, she in a cover band...with ukeleles. It's called Uke Box Heroes, and it makes sense she'd be on MySpace, along with a link to her own space on the band's site. The music is rather peaceful, and haunting. This is something Topher couldn't possibly make. Want more? Well, she did talk to Echo Alert about the last days of filming, and even responded t ofan questions. If you want to learn more, like how she learned how to hula in the OC, check out this podcast from Fellowship of Fools. FOX SHOULD RESPECT ITS FANS...OR ELSE Dollverse recently got an e-mail from Fox PR, saying the site can't report on the show unless it comes from official press releases. The site has broken some good stories, like who will be Alpha. Apparently, they were upset over whether "Epitaph One" was going to air. Well, the Dollverse site has something to say, as do Whedonesque fans. Besides, would they try this stunt with Entertainment Weekly? ALL IN THE FAMILY... Now that she's been able to bring an idea of hers to TV, why not movies? E! Online's Marc Malkin says Eliza wants to produce a movie about controversial photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. She says her brother Nate will star. He's been in one episode of Angel, and she says he's a dead ringer for Mapplethope. This should be interesting, but will she be in the movie as one of the models? |
