| FORMER COMPANION NOW POSSIBLY EVIL ALIEN BOSS?
ABC will revive V, NBC's sci-fi mini-series from the 1980's about Nazis from outer space who look friendly...until we see what they really want. Their needs are similar to that "To Serve Man" cookbook. The Hollywood Reporter says Morena Baccarin will play the role of Anna, who is an expert in Earth culture and media manipulation. Think what would have happened if Inara ran Blue Sun. Scared, kids? The Televisionary blog also has a report on the pilot, and praises Morena big time as the face of evil, although some suggest she borrowed a bit from her previous evil role in Stargate Atlantis. But it's the same as recycling old jeans. FINALLY!! THE SHEPHERD'S TALE WILL BE TOLD I remember this from the Browncoats Cruise from three years ago, but finally we have progress on the Serenity comic book that will finally reveal the backstory of our favorite holy man who isn't so holy. AICN has an interview with Ron Glass, and word that Joss is getting his brother Zack into the script. From what I remember, Book has a shadowy past that may be described as a fatal example at identity theft. As we know, of course, he will atone. Instead of being a comic book mini-series, it will be released as a hardcover in November. Until then... PATTEN OSWALT JOINS THE WHEDONVERSE After his wonderful appearances on Dollhouse, Oswalt has come up with a one-shot comic book about Wash. MTV says it's basically a tribute to him, as it's set after Serenity. So get some toy dinosaurs and a Hawaiian shirt, and then get this issue in June. SCARIER THAN JASMINE WILL SHE BE After appearing as a mom on Gossip Girl, Gina Torres will be on Vampire Diaries on the CW, where the undead at least don't have strange eyebrows. Fancast says she'll be a sorceress who will play a sinsiter role....something involving a tomb. She may not be as scary as Jasmine, Miss Peace On Earth For Only 20 Human Sacrifices A Day on Angel, but this should be interesting. WAREHOUSE 13 FANS MISS KAYLEE AND SIMON So, we have that couple reunited....as other people. The Futon Critic says Sean Maher and Jewel Staite will be in an episode this summer. He's a meek guy who's in love with Jewel's character, and can't follow through on this. Naturally, a relic gives him courage and strength...and causes even more problems. One thing, though...didn't Artie die at the end of season one? Well, Lindsay Wagner has joined the cast as the W13 doctor. Maybe Artie will be bionic. IT'S NOT A BIRD...BUT IT'S WASH'S FRIEND David Krumholtz is best known as the guy who solves crimes with Numb3rs, but he was also Mr. Universe on Serenity. He talked to iF magazine about his experiences with the movie. WHAT IF FOX WAS A LITTLE SMARTER IN 2002? We'd get a network that doesn't have just two shows, 24 and American Idol. We'd also have this TV review from another dimension...the 7th season opener to Firefly. Redrighthand predicts that could have happened if the show continued past its only season. For one thing, one certain crew member would still be with us, and Fringe would still disappoint some fans. Some of the responses are funny, too, but I wish there were a comment about how the Buffy spin-off Faith was a shoo-in for Mini-Series gold at the Emmys, and how the WB was #3 ahead of NBC thanks to Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles (with Rose McGowan as Cameron) and Detective Mars. JAYNE COBB HAS A THEORY Adam Baldwin gives an interesting interview to the Onion's AV Club about his past roles. He even gives his two cents on why Firefly and Serenity didn't catch on, and it's partly due to things we've heard before. We also find out he could have replaced David Duchovny on X-Files. HAS JOSS TURNED SUMMER INTO A WAITRESS YET? Actually, it's that ballet he wants to do called "The Serving Girl", with Miss Glau in the title role. In an MTV interview, they say they're really eager to do this. She says Joss' score is beautiful, while he says she's too busy to clear some time because she's terminating people (unless Fox decides to terminate the show, which fans say they shouldn't before the Cameron-Weaver-bot fight in a cage). There's also speculation about whether this should be released only on YouTube or a smiliar site. Why not make it a short film, give it to the Oscars and see if it gets a nomination? If a TV pilot can wind up with an Oscar for Live Action Short Film, so can a ballet film. YOU CAN"T TAKE THIS TEA FROM ME! However, you can buy some Firefly tea, thanks to Adagio Teas. Someone came up with this cunning blend that will keep you warmer than Jayne Cobb's hat...or cooler than Wash's shirts. FIRST DRAFT OF SERENITY SCRIPT FOUND What if Inara was the only person who left Serenity before the movie, or we find out the Operative had a name, or we got a lot less of River finally getting her sanity? All that and more is in the first draft of the script, found in a site called Serenity Stuff. IN THE NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE.... I still say the greatest cross-over idea ever is having Buffy the Vampire Slayer be on MST 3000, and riff on a certain movie that may or may not be about her. However, the next best idea comes from a guy called "Hypnotic Goat"...what if MST 3000 riffed on Serenity? The result is pure comedy. WHO'S ON TOP IN MIDDLE FINGER WAR? THIS WEBSITE KEEPS TRACK OK, now I've seen everything....there's a website that records how often Nathan Fillion and Jewel Staite give the finger to each other. It's called Flipping the Bird. This unique friendly battle between Canadians was one of the highlights of the recent Flanvention. Anyway, this shows how Jewel got severla hundred people at Dragoncon to give Nathan the finger, while he struck back with magic tricks, a gag gift...and the Serenity gag reel. |
