| Yes, it's Santa Tracy, leading the White Elephant Exchange. It's a variation of the Secret Santa, where people contribute a gift and exchange them again and again. I gave a Budweiser Talking Frog and a Joss Whedon shot glass to the overall gift pool. Everyone wound up with something, nice gifts and quirky ones. I wound up with a CD from some singer called Mark Kramer. Some of the tunes include "The Fanboy Song", "The Vampire Song" and "All Liquored Up." Of course, there's a connection with Joss, especially in the "Fanboy Song".
By the way, Johnathan required an "elf" from the crowd to help out with the gift-giving. She later won a prize in the Masquerade for Best Kid's Costume. He also added a special challenge for everyone: A guy named Sean has a very unique wheelchair. They were told to find the tackiest and cheap thing they can find from the ship, then use it to decorate the wheelchair. Sean is a brave man. Anyway, the guy with the tackiest item would win a free drink. |

| Now we have our Special Guests gathered together at the Cole Porter Room. Ron was first with big news: we will finally learn about Shepherd Book in a new Serenity comic book series called "The Shepherd's Tale". We later found out that his past includes something that is called his "worst failure", and that Book is not his real name. It comes from the last guy he killed. He also revealed that Book has an artificial body part, and may have found God in a soup bowl....at least according to Joss Whedon. Joss will co-wroite the series, which will likely happen late next year after the "Better Days" series.
Johnathan was asked if he was a jinx because he appeared on the last seasons of Buffy and Angel, and a Firefly episode that never aired. He explained he is a "cooler" or a Show Assasin. Actually, that job goes to, well, other men who think they are as smart as their wardrobe. So how has being in the Firefly-verse changed them? Ron said he's lost hair, but it's more than that. Johnathan says it's gotten him on this cruise. Nectar, who is a member even if she appeared briefly in Serenity, said she got new teeth and contacts. Michael said it's changed his life in ways he doesn't know about. the show lives in his heart, and so does the love from the fans. Then someone asked a question for Niska, and why he's f*cked up. Michael, in his Niska accent, says he's a lovable family man, who's rational and quirky who likes a little torture now and then. Okayyyyyyyyyy...... Now, what was the most embarassing thing that's happened to them on the set? Ron said it was actually off set, when he got some interesting e-mail including some photos and an invitation. Johnathan talked about how he took some medication that made him too woozy, and it led to some interesting pictures of him. He then talked about how he had to lie naked under Nathan in "The Message," and how that was also interesting. For the record, it's because Johnathan's character was supposed t otransport body organs for transplant in his body..and it involved being naked at one point. So, what's next? Well, Nectar was at the picket lines for the Writer's Guild. Michael has joined a play in Santa Monica where he plays two characters. he later admitted that while he's been in a lot of TV shows and movies, his preference is the theater. Ron will be voicing a video game, although he doesn't know which one yet. Johnathan will also be in a play in New York as a super hero. He got the role because the director is a Browncoat. Nectar then talked about working at a movie called "Five Dollars A Day" with Christopher Walken. When she waited him to start a scene, she swears she heard loud noises from Walken's trailer. Then he came out, drank from a bottle of Tabasco Sauce, then got ready to start the scene. |

| As you can see, Michael is dancing. He did this after giving a serious answer about why he prefers theater to film and TV work. He was concerned his answer was a bit too serious. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Then Ron answered a question from a fan who needed someone else to ask it due to a sore throat. It was basically what brings him back to a show that didn't last very long. He says the experience is very special, and so are the fans.
Speaking of which, he gathered the staff together, then talked to Jeremy Neish, co-organizer of the cruise and also behind the Done the Impossible documentary. Jeremy said to Ron, "Yes, grandpa?" (That's from the pilot) That got a big laugh, and Ron reminded him he never got married...then asked Jeremy if he ever got married. Well, no....but as you can see on the picture to the right, he fixed that...by proposing to Kelly, his girlfriend Yep, two years after the famous proposal at the Flanvention, we have another happy ending. Atta boy, Jeremy |

| Then Johnthan was asked if he were stranded on Cannibal Island, who would he prefer: Buffy, Cordy or Zoe? He said Wash.
Michael then revealed his Niska accent was supposed to be Czech, but he modeled it after some Russian friends with a bit of Czech. Nectar also said she got the job on Serenity by auditioning for it. She remembered getting a top secret script for the movie, and practiced being still. Ron then recalled an episode of Barney Miller when his character had to go undercover posing as a woman. This meant shaving his mustache, but apparently the other cops were surprised about how good he looked. Ron recalled he did look good, but not that good. As for actors they admire, Ron praised Morgan Freeman because he does all the work. He also liked Will Smith. Fairman also liked Freeman, along with Edwin Booth, Brando, Anthony Hopkins and even Johnathan. Ron talked about how Olivier played Othello in the movie, including makeup. If you see that movie on DVD, you'll know what he means. Nectar praised Annette Bening because she taught Nectar how to focus and not let her doubts affect her. She also talked about how Cate Blanchett plays Dylan in I'm Not There. Nectar says she can play the Fool in Lear if Cate can play Dylan, and quite well, too. Johnathan, meanwhile, thought Dwayne Johnson, alias the Rock, may be an up-and-comer in acting. I think JW had seen Southland Tales, and was surprised on how good Johnson was. He also likes Gary Oldman, Johnny Depp and Chita Rivera. He also pointed out that Joss is one cool guy (natch), and that the devotion his fans have is almost like guru worship. Well...he can write music aside from unforgettable TV shows. Then Fairman was asked what is Niska's motivation? Well, he explained Niska likes to give pain, discomfort, alomost to the point that it's almost sensual to him. Thing is, that question came from his daughter. The DVD from this cruise proves this. Well, he says Niska just possessed him, and he danced again. Nectar was asked if Nathan or David Krumholz (Mr. Universe) was the bigger cut-up. Well, she said she didn't notice because she was focused in her role. She did claim Joss was a great hip-hop dancer, then went into a rendition of the Robot...also in the DVD. |
